What is AFEC?
The Alaska Family Engagement Center (AFEC) is part of a national network of state family engagement centers. The AFEC aims to improve school-family partnerships across the state by working with school districts to develop training, resources, and activities for schools and families.
AFEC is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to the Alaska Association of School Boards, the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED) and SERRC in partnership with thirteen school districts. All school districts, community partners, and families will have access to the materials developed through this project.
The work is also guided by a Family Advisory Board and Alaska Family Engagement Center Coalition.
