This fall, the Alaska Family Engagement Center partnered with the Alaska Staff Development Network to host a course focused on implementing the recommendations outlined in Ari Gerzon-Kessler’s book On the Same Team: Bringing Educators & Underrepresented Families Together. The practical how-to gave participants the tools to host meaningful conversations with families who might have struggled to engage with schools.
At the end of the seven-session course, participants encouraged us to offer it again so their colleagues could take it too.

Interested participants can register through the Alaska Staff Development Network. For staff from Alaska Family Engagement Center partner school districts, we can offer one credit from the University of Alaska Anchorage at no cost. Plus, we’ll send you the book and the Stronger Together Family Engagement Framework.
The course starts Tuesday, January 13th, and meets every other Tuesday, 4:15 – 6:15. Registration closes January 27th.
