Interview Protocol Guide for Students

In March, we focused on the engaging salmon and berry activities designed for younger students, which serve as a powerful tool for fostering family involvement in education.

The impact of interactive homework extends beyond the early years. Families play a crucial role in shaping their teenagers’ life choices, but it can be hard to know how to get conversations started. The Art of Interview guide, created by Ryan Conarro, guides students on how to interview family members, community figures, or elders. This initiative not only strengthens family bonds but also enriches the school’s understanding of local culture and knowledge. Drawing on the themes from the play *Dear Fish*, which highlights the experiences of fishers in Juneau, Alaska, and Deer Isle, Maine, the guide exemplifies a practical approach to integrating community insights into educational contexts.
