For this year’s open house, we wanted to better understand the hopes and dreams our families have for their children while making their thinking visible, a core practice at our school. At its heart, “Making Thinking Visible” is about making the invisible visible, so that we can collectively examine, reflect on, and learn from it. Instead of keeping family hopes hidden in an email or a private survey, this wall offers a warm, creative space for our community to map their experience of belonging at our school and what they value and hope for in their students’ growth. From hopes of deeper connections to Tlingit culture to celebrating inclusive spaces with rainbow flags, these responses serve as an intentional invitation.
